The history, clinical findings, roentgenographic changes, and pathological studies of
infantile cortical hyperostosis were summarized. Two cases of infantile cortical hyperostosis
occurring in sibling and demonstrated on utero by prenatal roentgenograms were
presented. Evidence that this syndrome is not infectious in nature and that the cortical
thickening is not cortical bone has been reviewed. A hypothetical explanation of the
