The serum-and glucocorticoid-induced kinase 1 (SGK1) plays a central role in hormone
regulation of epithelial sodium (Na+) channel (ENaC)-dependent Na+ transport in the distal
nephron. Phosphorylation within a carboxy-terminal domain, designated the hydrophobic
